What We Do
Thai Responsible Tourism Association (TRTA) was formed by stakeholders from six different sectors involved in tourism: tour operators, accommodation providers, restaurants, tourist guides, local communities and academics. The group shares the belief that Responsible Tourism can have a positive impact for all stakeholders and by being responsible ans conscientious in using tourism resources help guarantee its future sustainability.
Thai Responsible Tourism is tourism which does not have negative impacts to Thai social, culture, economy, and environment. It should have an advantage to the Thai Tourism Industry which includes development and building awareness together.
MISSIONS & OBJECTIVES
Missions
- Coordinate responsible tourism efforts with stakeholders in the tourism industry, both domestically and internationally.
- Develop the capabilities of personnel within the tourism industry to enhance their proficiency in responsible tourism
- Advocate for and raise awareness of responsible tourism practices within the tourism industry.
- Promote and support responsible tourism marketing activities both domestically and internationally.
- Conduct research and development on responsible tourism.
Objectives
- To coordinate responsible tourism efforts with stakeholders in the tourism industry, both domestically and internationally.
- To serve as an advisor and provide academic knowledge on responsible tourism.
- To promote, support, and cultivate awareness of responsible tourism practices within the tourism industry.
- To enhance the capabilities of personnel in the tourism industry regarding responsible tourism.
- To develop the capabilities of members to meet standards in responsible tourism marketing.
- To study and advance research related to responsible tourism.
